{"id":230,"date":"2024-09-27T11:01:00","date_gmt":"2024-09-27T09:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.feti.hu\/?p=230"},"modified":"2025-12-02T17:11:59","modified_gmt":"2025-12-02T16:11:59","slug":"george-olah-conference-budapest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.feti.hu\/hu\/george-olah-conference-budapest\/","title":{"rendered":"George Olah Conference, Budapest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We had the opportunity of attending the 6th\u00a0George Olah Conference, held in celebration of the 30th\u00a0anniversary of George Olah's Nobel Prize.<br>The event featured inspiring plenary lectures of Prof. Dr. Julius Vancs\u00f3 from the University of Twente and Sulis Polymers LTD covering Biointerface chemistry, and Prof. Dr. G\u00e1bor Laurenczy from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne covering the challenges of hydrogen storage. He emphasized the role of CO2\u00a0conversion to methanol as a promising solution for storing hydrogen efficiently. This approach also contributes to reducing carbon emissions, offering a dual benefit in the context of sustainable technologies.
