We are glad to be the front-runners in CatCHy project of the Horizon 2020 research program at FETI. Our attention is on developing novel catalysts for CO2 hydrogenation and electroreduction based on metal clusters – processes that can facilitate decline in carbon emissions and promote sustainable energy.
FETI leads the simulation work package as per this pioneering initiative, which is indispensable for understanding reactivity of these inventive catalysts. Meanwhile, our team employs sophisticated simulation techniques and unravels hard-to-understand CO2 conversion mechanisms while also introducing cluster-based catalysts that add to their efficiency.
CO2 is being captured and converted into high value chemicals via a broad holistic approach, using renewable energies as shown in the visual below. We optimize such steps through simulations from FETI; thus, we make certain that metal clustercatalysts are suitable for tomorrow’s green energy needs.
