George Olah Conference, Budapest

We had the opportunity of attending the 6th George Olah Conference, held in celebration of the 30th anniversary of George Olah's Nobel Prize.
The event featured inspiring plenary lectures of Prof. Dr. Julius Vancsó from the University of Twente and Sulis Polymers LTD covering Biointerface chemistry, and Prof. Dr. Gábor Laurenczy from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne covering the challenges of hydrogen storage. He emphasized the role of CO2 conversion to methanol as a promising solution for storing hydrogen efficiently. This approach also contributes to reducing carbon emissions, offering a dual benefit in the context of sustainable technologies. Representing FETI, both Balázs Barhács and Máté Szalay participated in the conference.
